LITR 243 Singleton & Hughes This course examines the relationship between the written and filmed versions of a story, novel, play, or poetry. The course will explore how character development, plot, narrative, symbols, and language are translated from text to film. To facilitate analysis, students will acquire a basic vocabulary for discussing literature and film. African American themes regarding socio-historical context, aesthetics, and critical theory will be examined. The course establishes connections between literature and other areas of arts and communications.
